One Month

I love my white chair in front of a window for taking photographs. I told myself when Ty was born that I would try my hardest to remember to take his picture in the white chair every month of his first year to see how he grows and fills out the chair. Well guess what...he's already 1 month old exactly today! AND I actually remembered to take his picture in the chair. It's quite a miracle that I remember anything...truly. So here he is in the white chair, exactly one month old.

What he's up to at the ripe old age of 1 month:

  • A lot of sleeping
  • Quite a bit of nursing (he does get the occasional bottle to give Mom a break)
  • Almost as much pooping & peeing
  • Lots of looking around and taking everything in
  • He loves to stare at the ceiling fan
  • He has a rare bout of fussiness, but mostly he's a very content baby
  • He is just starting to look at me when I talk to him and give a little grin

Why didn't I think of that?

I totally would have done something like this at my wedding if I had been clever enough to come up with it. The only problem...my husband kind of has two left feet. Although he would have thoroughly enjoyed girating up & down the aisle of the church.

This is seriously way too much fun! If only all the bridesmaids & groomsmen could actually dance. I'm not sure swinging a bouquet of flowers in a circular motion over & over, flapping your arms like a chicken, or moving your arms up and down as if you are punching someone under their chin can quite pass as dancing. Oh and if only someone would have told the bride she might want to consider a little more "support" ahem in her dress if she was going to be shaking her groove thang down the aisle. Oh well, it's still definitely worth a watch.

4 Years Old

Today my baby girl turned 4 years old. I cannot believe it. I cannot believe she has one more year with me and then she will be heading off to Kindergarten like her "big sissy." I remember 4 being a really good year with MacKenzie and I hope that's true for Reagan too. Reagan is such a firecracker. She always has something funny to say and has some of the craziest expressions. She makes me laugh constantly. She loves music. In fact, today she told me she would have liked to get an Ipod for her Birthday....an Ipod! Right! Every time a song comes on in the car that she likes (and she has MANY favorites) she asks me to turn it up and she then proceeds to dance like crazy, or as much as she can strapped into a car seat with a 5-point harness. She is a snuggle bug and loves to curl up on the couch with you and watch Noggin. We didn't have a true "party" for her this year. I was just too tired to even try and attempt having one at our house. So we just had a fun-filled birthday weekend for her doing all kinds of fun things she likes to do. I'm too tired (shocker!) to post all the pictures tonight and the baby just went to sleep, so my clock of sleep-time is now ticking...loudly! So pictures of our birthday weekend to come...but until then, Happy Birthday Reagan! We love you "Vivo!"

Almost 3 weeks

I can't believe almost 3 weeks has gone by since my baby boy was born. Yet on the other hand I truly cannot remember what my life was like before he was in it. He is the sweetest, most mild mannered baby. He only cries when he is hungry, needs a diaper change, or needs to burp. Seriously, he could not be an easier baby....for now. We'll see if it lasts. He has had a very busy first few weeks. I guess it's just that he's our third child, because we have had him all over the place. Here are some things Ty has already done in his short life:

  • Surprise 40th birthday party at a ranch
  • Trip to the mall
  • Trip to Wal Mart
  • Trip to Target
  • Trip to Babies R Us
  • First Movie at the Theater (Ice Age 3)
  • A Few Gymnastics classes
  • Birthday Dinner at PF Chang's
  • Huge Fireworks Display in Downtown Houston
  • Church
  • Some Walks around the neighborhood
  • Lunches at various locations
  • Sleepover at Maggie's Apartment in Houston
  • First Concert at Dosey Doe
  • 2 Doctor's Appointments
He had his two week check up at the doctor last week and she said and I quote, "They don't come more perfect than this." What a miracle he is. I am so thankful he is here and that he is as heathy as can be. Here are his stats from his check up:
Weight - 9 lbs 8 oz (The dr likes to see that they have gotten back to their birth weight by their 2 week check up. He was almost a POUND heavier than his birth weight!)
Length - 21.25 inches

Here are a few pictures I took of him today:
