Ty's First Official Haircut

My poor boy could hardly see. His hair was in his eyes and he was starting to always try and look under the hair to see. So as much as I really wanted to keep his hair long, we just needed to finally get it trimmed.

So long hair in my eyes!

Waiting my turn

"Have we met? And what are those sharp things in your hand?"

He was SO good! He sat in the chair by himself and let her cut his hair like a big boy!

His treat when he was done. He looks a bit like he belongs in The Beatles.

A Few Halloween Lessons

I only like Hershey's Milk Chocolate in a S'More.

The only other thing worth eating in the Hershey's Miniatures bag is Mr. Goodbar.

My neighbor can carve a serious pumpkin. Seriously. The detail. The detail!

You should never let your child shovel pumpkin goo & seeds in his mouth straight out of the pumpkin.
Trust me on this.
You will pay for it for days after...

Last but certainly not least: You CAN get a baby who wants NOTHING on his head to wear a hot, itchy afro wig in 80 degree weather the ENTIRE time he's trick or treating IF you give him candy to distract him.

Decor de Halloween

I used to decorate for Fall when October came around. I had pumpkins and harvest things. More recently I've really enjoyed doing a Halloween decor for October and then switching over to Fall in November. It's more work that way, but it's fun and the kids really enjoy it. I've slowly accumulated all of the spooky things you'll see here over a span of years. I love adding to the collection each year. I hit up the best places for Halloween things the day after Halloween and stock up for next year. So if you're looking for me on Monday, November 1st, you can probably find me at Target or Home Goods. Here's a little of how we spook up our house.
